Out of the Woods…and into the Bay

It looks like the snow may be over by the weekend, so time to make the most of it. The steep section of track to Aldroughty and Badgers Wood was clear enough of snow and ice today for us to be able to go for a drive over to Findhorn for coffee and breakfast at the wonderful Bake House cafe, followed by a walk in Findhorn Bay with our friend Pete Dominey.

The last time I went to the bay was also with Pete, who lives opposite in the eco-village – that time it was dusk, and the whole sky was flooded with gold and pink. Today, the combination of the snow, ice and sunshine made for a vista of almost blinding arctic blues and white, with flocks and murmurations of birds dancing along the shoreline.
