Making Contact: Co-ops on the Rise

Earlier this year I spent a month in the north of Spain visiting eco-villages in the mountains, and also making a radio piece about the world’s largest worker owned co-operative, the Mondragon Corporation, based in the Basque Country in Spain. And now you can hear it!

The report was for an upbeat American radio program called Making Contact, who tackle social and political issues from a grass-roots perspective, looking for positive and inspiring solutions, rather than just problems.  Making it Our Business: Co-ops on the Rise is their special report on co-ops, in which they’ve taken a look at three examples of worker owned cooperatives – a Chicago factory that was occupied back in 2008, a chain of bakeries in San Francisco, and my own report about Mondragon.

Here’s a link to the full show.
