BBC Radio – Interview with Filmmaker Harun Farocki

Tune in to Radio Scotland’s The Movie Café at lunch time today to hear my latest radio feature, an interview with the German experimental filmmaker Harun Farocki, whose work is currently being features at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Glasgow.

Farocki, who has made over ninety films in a career spanning forty years, produces thought provoking, unconventional and often beautiful films that focus on themes of war, mechanisation, industrialisation and the prison industrial complex.

Tune in to the show between 1:15 and 2:00 to hear about his latest works, including surveillance video footage from a high security prison in America where prisoners fight like gladiators in the courtyards, and footage of Immersion, in which traumatised soldiers from Iraq relive their experiences of conflict using a virtual reality environment.
